Open Verifier is maintained as a local-first public verification utility. The initial implementation is stewarded by Aurifex Inc., which maintains the first verifier profile, foundry registry support, and authentication packet workflow.
The long-term goal is neutral governance: open specifications, transparent verification behavior, and profile support that can expand beyond one implementation.
Principles
- Local-first: verification should not require file uploads, accounts, or backend calls.
- Transparent: every pass, warning, or failure should be explainable to the reviewer.
- Profile-based: receipt formats should be recognized through public rules, not hidden assumptions.
- Careful claims: legal posture is support, not a guarantee of admissibility or compliance.
